Marshall Heinz teaches both oil and pastel workshops in her studio at the Artists' Attic in Lexington, Kentucky. She includes florals, still lifes, and portraits in her repertoire. She began painting canine portraits in 1996 when her daughter requested a portrait of her beloved Yorkie, Josh. Marshall is happy to work with photographs submitted by her clients, but likes to spend time observing her subject when possible. She strives to capture a unique sensitivity that goes beyond likeness
